Mid-Summer Festival 2025

Updated: 4 days ago

This year's event took place from June 20th to 22nd. The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with a lively performance by the Sir Joshua Reynolds Choir at Plympton St Maurice's Guildhall. Their concert, "Summer is a comin' in," featured a 30-member choir that entertained us and helped raise over £200 for the Friends of the Guildhall (FroGs).

On Saturday, our volunteers were up early to prepare the field for the official opening at 12 pm, marked by the arrival of Plympton's 25/26 Stannator and Youth Ambassador in classic cars. This year, we hosted 45 commercial and charity stalls, along with the traditional Lamb Roast, Hotdog stall, swing boats, and a games corner to entertain both children and adults. We were delighted to offer the attending charities the opportunity to raise a combined total of over £2500 for their individual causes. The London Inn emerged victorious in our annual tug of war competition.

To conclude the weekend, 24 Hidden Gardens of St Maurice welcomed visitors to explore their unique styles and offerings. Drum Abundance provided street entertainment as people moved between the gardens, while the local church and care home opened their doors for visitors to enjoy a quick rest and a cream tea.

The Plympton St Maurice Civic Association extends its gratitude to Plympton for supporting the events once again, and we look forward to seeing you at our future events.
